Make 2012 Your Year of Good Health
This year, the Dental Health and Wellness Boston team challenges you to make some changes in your life for both your dental health and your overall health! If you’re ready, let’s go!
For a healthier heart: Make a commitment to add in at least 30 minutes of cardio three times per week ( Check out Women’s Health for different cardio options); also, make sure you are flossing every time you brush your teeth – studies show that gum disease can increase the risk of heart issues including stroke and heart attack so maintaining good oral care at home as well as with regular visits to Dental Health and Wellness Boston.
For weight loss: Try changing up your diet to include more fresh fruits, veggies and fiber to keep you full throughout the day. Tasty snacks like cheese, celery and plain yogurt will help you keep your figure and offer the added benefit of reducing plaque build-up on your teeth.
For relaxation: Take time for yourself – mix meditation into your routine, go for a walk outdoors or treat yourself to a spa day. By reducing stress, your body is better able to fight infections, including oral issues like gum disease, and you are less likely to suffer from bruxism from grinding and clenching your teeth.
