A few words from Dr. Jill B. Smith, DMD:

In keeping with my emphasis on health and wellness, I often look for the least invasive method to accomplish a smile makeover and achieve the desired esthetic goals for a patient. Sarah’s case is a perfect example. As her before treatment photos demonstrate, her smile was compromised by mal positioned and crowded teeth and a front tooth that had been repaired with a bonded plastic filling that was stained and failing. Where many cosmetic dentists may have proposed extensive treatment plans such as multiple veneers, I was confident I could propose a conservative solution that would exceed her expectations and enable Sarah to keep her healthy teeth in their natural state.

Our treatment began with in Invisalign, a series of clear plastic aligners that positioned her teeth in a correct functional and esthetically pleasing position. Toward the end of all Invisalign treatments we provide complimentary whitening for our patient, and Sarah had a great result that brightened her teeth by several shades. Our last step was to restore just the single tooth with a carefully matched ceramic ¾ crown. This “glass—like” is not only the best way to precisely match the color and characteristics of her adjacent teeth but it also is strong and will not stain or chip like the plastic filling she originally had. Now how’s that for an “Extreme Makeover”!
