The Latest Option in Cosmetic Procedures: Sculptra
From Melissa Schneider, MD, Plastic Surgeon
As a plastic surgeon and specialist in minimally invasive cosmetic procedures, I see patients every day who are looking for ways to recapture their youthful glow. I highly recommend Sculptra, a volumizer that helps stimulate one’s own collagen production.
As we age, certain areas of our face – nasolabial folds, molar area (cheeks), around our mouths – can begin to lose volume and sag. In two to three treatments, several months apart, Sculptra is able to stimulate the tissue in these areas to both restore fullness and actually promote new collagen production. First, patients will have a consultation with me to ensure Sculptra is right for them. Then I schedule the treatments. Each treatment lasts about 45 minutes and consists of a series of injections. There’s minimal discomfort, and the product is biocompatible and biodegradable. After each treatment, I recommend patients massage their faces at home to continue stimulating the collagen to achieve the best, most youthful looking results.
