Dental Technology – Boston, MA

Expert Results with Precise Treatments

The dental world advances every day, and our team at Dental Health & Wellness Boston continues to keep up with the latest technology and techniques that are introduced to us so we can provide our patients with the exceptional dentistry they deserve. Each diagnosis we make and treatment plan that we draw up is more precise and accurate thanks to our inclusion of reliable technology in our office. Below, you can read about some of the devices that you can find around our Boston practice.

Digital X-Rays

Unlike their film counterparts, digital X-rays are able to immediately capture an image of your mouth to allow your dentist in Boston to view the area that lies below the gumline. This helps our team diagnose problems like cavities between the teeth, tooth infections, and impacted teeth. In addition to streamlining each of your checkups, digital X-ray imaging systems minimize radiation exposure by up to 90%, making the process safer as well.

Digital Impression System

Our digital impression system does away with messy, gag-inducing putty impressions and creates a precise digital blueprint that we can use to craft mouthguards and restorations with. All we do is wave a wand around your mouth that will capture the measurements and shape of every groove and tooth. Then, we’ll send it off to our dental laboratory to craft a comfortable, lifelike, customized prosthetic or restoration with. Not to mention that our digital impression system is great for the environment!

Intraoral Camera

In each of our treatment rooms, we have an intraoral camera that allows us to gain a detailed, up-close view of your teeth and gums. The camera itself is in the shape of a small wand that we can easily maneuver around your mouth and capture video footage and still images with. These are then displayed on a large chairside monitor that we use to help explain any oral health problems you may have, along with our recommended treatment plan.

Cavity Detection System

Cavities can develop in areas that are impossible for the naked eye to see, which is why we use a cavity detection system to make sure that any signs of decay are spotted and treated as early as possible. This device uses fluorescent technology to highlight decay in teeth, allowing us to clean and treat the area before it has a chance to progress and result in a more serious oral issue down the road.
